2025 Prague Ministerial
In a time of deepening polarisation, global security crises, uncertainty and societal transformation—from the disruptive impact of emerging technologies to climate emergencies—the right to FoRB stands as both a foundational human right and a source of resilience and inclusiveness for individuals and societies.
The High-Level International Conference took place on the occasion of the 5-year anniversary of IRFBA – the Article 18 Alliance under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Czech Republic.
The conference convened leaders from governments, civil society, faith communities, academia, and the tech sector to explore FoRB's role in fostering intercultural dialogue, social cohesion, peacebuilding, and ethical innovation. It was structured around themes like FoRB as a source of resilience, religious engagement, interfaith dialogue, AI and ethics, climate change, genocide prevention, Eurasia and the Middle East.
During the conference, there was a special tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama as a religious leader of Tibetan Buddhism that will honour his commitment to nonviolence and human dignity.
In addition to the panel discussion, the conference featured regional perspectives that examine how FoRB shapes diverse societies, strengthens democratic values and supports post-conflict recovery.
Within this framework, a dedicated session titled Resilience and Religious Freedom in Ukraine focused on the struggle of individuals and communities caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The program invited the participants to reflect, collaborate, and develop strategies that would center FoRB in responses to today’s most pressing issues through dialogue and reconciliation
