Anja Tang

Anja Tang is Executive Director of the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe (OIDAC Europe), a Vienna-based research organization monitoring violent anti-religious attacks and restrictions on FoRB across Europe. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights, with a specialization in religious freedom. Her academic work examines the legal scope of FoRB and assesses global religious freedom indices as tools for measuring violations and progress.

She leads OIDAC Europe’s work on documenting discrimination, hate crimes, and legal restrictions affecting Christians, contributing evidence to international human rights mechanisms and policy processes. Her work engages institutions such as the OSCE/ODIHR, the European Parliament, and the UN Human Rights Council, and supports evidence-based policymaking on FoRB.

Tang has published academic research and is the lead author of key reports on the subject. She regularly contributes to capacity-building, with a particular focus on younger generations and emerging leaders.

Before joining OIDAC Europe, she worked on human rights at the Austrian Parliament, with a particular focus on strengthening protections for persecuted religious minorities worldwide.
