Mr. Ivan Picukarić is currently an Advisor for religion and diplomacy to the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and a Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the International Religious Freedom or Belief alliance (IRFBA-Article 18 Alliance).

As a career diplomat, he had been appointed to several positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He would single out: Chief Inspector of the Ministry (2004-2005), Director for Economic Cooperation (2011-2012) as well as Director for Africa and Middle East (2019-2021).

Also, He had served as a Consul General in Toronto, Canada (1995-2001), Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa (2006-2010) and Charge d'Affaires to the Republic of Turkiye (2016-2018).

He practiced law as a Lawyer before he joined Foreign Service in 1992.
