Márk Aurél Érszegi
Márk Aurél Érszegi is serving as Special Advisor for Religion and Diplomacy at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He has been working for the Ministry since 2001 in various positions, including as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Minister (2012-2014).
In 2008-2012 was posted to the Embassy of Hungary in Rome, in 2015-2020 served as First Counsellor, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Hungary to the Holy See.
Graduated in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Trieste (Italy) in 1999. Later he studied Catholic Theology and Canon Law at the “Pázmány Péter” Catholic University in Budapest (Hungary). Former lecturer in Theory and Methodology of International Negotiations at the Pannon University, Veszprém (Hungary), since 2023 he is external lecturer of comparative religious studies at the Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic College in Nyíregyháza (Hungary). Also known as expert in Vatican affairs, author of several publications on this subject.
