The Working Group is dealing with the following topics:
Bring a religious inequality/FoRB perspective to the current and post SDG agenda;
Consider what needs to be done to ensure that development and humanitarian assistance do not inadvertently leave behind members of religious and belief minorities;
Practical approaches to internal institutionalisation of FoRB sensitivity in areas receiving external aid;
Follow-up on the Berlin Ministerial of 2024 (linked) on the interlinkages between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and FoRB, inter alia paper by Cameran Ashraf and Andrea Pin on FoRB and AI (linked): Manifestations and Recommendations (linked);
Side event in the margins of the UN Human Rights Council Session of March 2025 on „Human Rights under new pressure? How the shift of tech companies’ corporate policies impacts freedom of religion or belief and other human rights“ (linked);
Exchange with tech companies and international initiatives on their approaches to AI and FoRB and on deeper human rights impact assessments explicitly dealing with FoRB and its interconnection with other human rights.
